Devops Engineer

Essential functions

 

1. Streamline software development processes
2. Improve infrastructure efficiency
3. Ensure seamless deployment and operations
4. Bridge the gap between development and operations teams
5. Implement DevOps best practices
6. Automate workflows and tasks
7. Optimize system performance
8. Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
9. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines
10. Containerize applications and manage Kubernetes clusters
11. Implement and manage configuration management systems
12. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code
13. Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
14. Ensure system security and implement best practices
15. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
16. Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment and performance
17. Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve DevOps processes
18. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
19. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system reliability
20. Document processes, configurations, and system architectures

Qualifications

Must Have

• AWS experience with Kubernetes
• CI/CD knowledge
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automating tasks
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Programming experience in Go, Python, and Java

Experience and Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system administration
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
