Essential functions

• Shape and drive the long-term experience design and research strategy, contributing to the global XDR team’s vision and impact.

• Demonstrate the value of design within Grid Dynamics and to our clients by measuring, celebrating, and advocating for exceptional user experiences and team achievements.

• Lead engaging workshops to define, ideate, and refine product roadmaps, ensuring alignment and clarity in execution.

• Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering an environment where practitioners can thrive and do their best work.

• Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to support practitioners' skill development and career growth.

• Champion a customer-centric, data-driven culture that delivers meaningful insights that drive measurable business results

• Socialize insights with direct reports and x-functional partners to align and drive impact throughout extended working groups.

• Ensure seamless collaboration between XDR, product management, and engineering, balancing short-term needs with long-term experience excellence.

• Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive products, and evolving customer needs to inform and elevate design best practices.

• Enhance Grid Dynamics’ reputation as a leader in experience design by attracting and retaining top XDR talent. Support speaking opportunities, encourage industry engagement, and cultivate a strong talent pipeline through networking, referrals, and internal development.

Qualifications

To Be Successful, You Should Have:

• Experience in senior design and leadership roles, with a proven ability to collaborate closely with executive teams to drive strategy and innovation.

• Demonstrated success in elevating products, teams, or organizations to new levels of impact and excellence (see portfolio expectations below).

• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, crafting compelling product narratives that inspire both customers and internal teams.

• Proven ability to design for diverse user personas across various industries, delivering meaningful and effective experiences.

• Strong analytical mindset, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive informed design decisions.

• A well-established network within the design community, spanning professionals at all career stages.

• Deep interest in AI, with tangible examples of how you or your team are shaping the future through innovative design.

1. Challenges, Goals, and Outcomes

   • Do you clearly articulate the problem, the goals, and how your solution addressed them?

   • Do your case studies show how you synthesized user feedback and/or organizational objectives into actionable roadmaps (for design or development)

   • Do you include measurable outcomes or insights to demonstrate the impact and value of your work?

2. Balancing Copy and Visuals

   • Do your case studies strike a balance between text and visuals to create clear, and compelling narratives?

   • Are the stories easy to follow without overwhelming the reader with too much detail or relying too heavily on one format?

3. Showcasing the Process, Not Just the Final Designs

   • Do your case studies present the entire journey, including research, user flows, wireframes, testing, iterations, and decisions?

   • Do you include work in progress or unused concepts to highlight your problem-solving approach and demonstrate what didn’t work and why?

   • Are you able to communicate a clear vision that aligns with long-term goals for the team, company, or industry?

4. Demonstrating Results

   • Have you included data, metrics, or qualitative feedback to show the effectiveness of your designs?

   • Do you highlight improvements or key learnings that resulted from your work?

5. Clarifying Your Role

   • Do you specify your unique contributions and responsibilities in each project?

6. Showcasing Personality and Values

   • Does your work reflect your design philosophy and personal values (commitment to accessibility, innovation, or user-centered approaches)?
