Senior Database Developer
This project is part of a large-scale, multi-year initiative aimed at modernizing critical financial systems. The project focuses on replacing the existing database layer, which currently relies on a legacy MS SQL “CSS” database, with a more efficient and scalable Oracle database.
Essential functions
Participate in the design and development of high-performance business applications, from requirements analysis to production
Constantly improve software quality (evaluate and incorporate new libraries, tools and technologies; code reviews; refactoring; testing; etc.)
Analyze and improve application performance
Search for simple and robust solutions to complex tasks
Work in an Agile methodology environment where innovation, teamwork and creativity are the key for success
Qualifications
Working knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL
Understanding of Storage Procedures as they should be ported
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication skills.
Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies in particular
Would be a plus
Oracle architect capabilities is a plus.
Experience with AWS and RedShift is a plus because it can be optionally used in future.
Knowledge of MS SQL is a plus.
