Senior Big Data Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer to join a cutting-edge data platform project. This is a unique opportunity to work on the development of a high-performance data analytics system.
You’ll be part of a team collaborating with one of the world’s largest technology companies, headquartered in Silicon Valley and operating globally. The project is at the forefront of Big Data innovation, offering exposure to modern tools, large-scale data challenges, and a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Essential functions
Design and Develop Big Data Solutions: Architect, design, and implement scalable and reliable big data solutions using Scala, and Spark technologies to meet business requirements.
Data Ingestion and Processing: Develop robust data ingestion processes to acquire, clean, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources into usable formats.
Optimize Data Pipelines: Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows for efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval, ensuring high performance and low latency.
Real-Time Data Processing: Implement real-time data processing solutions using Spark Streaming or other similar technologies to enable real-time analytics and decision-making.
Data Quality and Governance: Establish and enforce data quality standards, data governance policies, and best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.
Qualifications
Proficiency in design and development of ETL pipelines using big data frameworks like Spark
Proficiency in Java, Scala/ Python.
Experience with workflow management tools like Airflow is a plus.
Experience with modern data architecture like data lakes, data lakehouse and cloud computing platforms
Experience with version control systems, CI/CD practices, testing, and migration tools for database and software.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
Understanding of performance and scalability aspects of Distributed Data systems.
Advanced English proficiency.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
