Senior Accountant (Spanish Speaking)

Essential functions

• Solid understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure for multi entity structure including consolidations with a good understanding of GAAP.

• Perform or oversee accounting functions as assigned including month-end and quarter-end close processes for subsidiaries of a public company, including review of journal entries, review of balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements for subsidiaries.

• Maintain compliance with internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

• Stay up to date with accounting standards and best practices, and provide guidance to the accounting team.

• Assistance with the consolidation process ensuring accurate inter company eliminations and compliance with GAAP.

• Assist in annual external audit, compile requested materials, respond to audit questions raised, especially inquiries on accounting procedure and treatment applied on sample       transactions.

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements, including the implementation and maintenance of internal  controls.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,Finance, or a related field.

• Experience: 3+ years of public accounting or consulting experience (including at least 1 year in a supervisory role).

• Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish (verbal and written) and English.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks), advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with U.S. GAAP.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

• Track record of effectively meeting deadlines, solving issues, fostering collaboration, and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

• Good organizational skills and desire to learn, grow and mentor.

• International experience and familiarity with cross-border financial reporting preferred but not required.

• Certification: CPA or progress towards certification is a plus but not required
