Senior Python Developer
Join the Grid Dynamics team, contributing to the development and evolution of internal services used for generating, managing, and consuming datasets, features, and embeddings for machine learning. This role focuses on backend development, emphasizing REST API work, with a strong focus on software development, data structures, and distributed systems.
Essential functions
- Develop and maintain backend services for an internal ML data management platform.
- Design, implement, and support RESTful APIs.
- Migrate customers from legacy services to second-generation platforms.
- Build and improve tools for data migration and client SDKs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to deploy services across multiple accounts.
- Contribute to system design and architectural decisions to evolve next-gen services.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality and performance optimization.
- Provide support during the deployment process and resolve migration issues.
Qualifications
- Strong backend development experience with Python and/or Java.
- Solid understanding of data structures, distributed systems, and system design.
- Experience with RESTful services and API development.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot (for Java) and Django or Flask (for Python).
- Proficient in database management using PostgreSQL.
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
Would be a plus
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Experience working in agile development environments.
- Interest in or exposure to ML and data engineering concepts.
