Staff Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Responsible for solution design and technical oversight over the team’s portfolio, including code and architectural reviews.

·      Engage in iOS application development and implement technical solutions described by architect.

·      Conduct regular code reviews and implement measures to improve code quality.

·      Engage with clients, providing updates on project progress, discussing requirements, and addressing concerns.

·      Identify potential risks in the project and implement strategies to mitigate them.

·      Proactively address issues to prevent negative impacts on project timelines and deliverables.

·      Engage in communication between the engineers’ team and other customer’s teams, including clients, project managers, and remote teams.

·      Work closely with the onsite team lead to align technical decisions with project goals and timelines.

·      Collaborate on resource planning and allocation based on technical expertise.

·      Ensure thorough documentation of project-related activities, including codebase, architecture, and project plans.

·      Provide technical guidance to a team of 15-20 engineers.

·      Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.

·      Provide guidance and support to team members in overcoming challenges.

·      Optimize resource utilization for efficient project delivery.

·      Direct supervision of approximately four iOS Software Engineers, including supporting the professional growth of team members through training, mentorship, and guidance.

·      Various worksites—job may allow for remote work; job may involve relocation to anticipated or unanticipated locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics’ offices throughout the United States and/or company headquarters located in San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor of Science degree in Data Analysis, Business Analytics and Information Management, Computer Science, or a closely related field

·      At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in the following:

1.     Swift and Objective-C programming languages for iOS development.

2.     Leading development of multiple iOS applications from concept to delivery

3.     Technical leadership and management of iOS development teams.

4.     Apple’s frameworks and APIs

5.     iOS architecture patterns: MVC, MVVM, and VIPER.
