Senior Software Engineer

Essential functions

·      Develop and maintain distributed and horizontally scalable systems using Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), Messaging (JMS), MyBatis, PostgreSQL, Cassandra DB, Sleuth, Prometheus, Gradle and JUnit.

·      Architecture design and implementation, including research and development.

·      Engage in all levels of test development (including functional, integration and system). C

·      Configure and support CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins for build, test automation and deployment processes.

·      Work in a Cloud environment within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

·      Write documentation such as architectural diagrams, system design, event flow and reports.

·      Provide estimations for development activities and maintain project roadmap.

·      Analyze and investigate issues and incidents using Splunk, elaborate steps to reduce risks and improve application quality metrics.

·      Various worksites—position may allow for remote work; job may involve relocation to anticipated or unanticipated locations across the United States, including client sites and Grid Dynamics’ offices throughout the United States and/or company headquarters located in San Ramon, CA.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. 

·      At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in the following:

1.     Distributed systems design and implementation.

2.     Software development using Spring Cloud framework.

3.     Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMPQ).

4.     System design and development of data processing services

5.     Cloud technologies (AWS).

6.     Test development with JUnit.

7.     Container application development with Docker.
