Thanks to its familiar and flexible environment, Microsoft Office Excel has become the industry-standard tool for financial modeling. But as a desktop application, it doesn’t have the computational power to rapidly process complex calculations. The Solution: Scaling out Excel to Windows HPC Server
To break through this performance barrier, a new option is gaining traction on Wall Street: offloading Excel calculations to a Windows HPC Server cluster. By combining many servers into a multi-processor parallel-computing engine, an HPC cluster can perform large and complex calculations, including financial modeling, in a fraction of the time.
