The Grid Dynamics Project Lifecycle
All development projects go through a lifecycle from conception and development to production and eventually retirement. Grid Dynamics has expertise in all these phases and can offer projects that assist customers in some or all of them. In cases where new technology is being explored, sometimes only the early phases are appropriate. In cases where new technology has already been chosen and adopted, customers may need assistance only in migration to production or integration of existing applications. But in many cases, Grid Dynamics is presented simply with a business problem and assists the customer in moving through all the phases, ensuring that the customer’s staff is on board every step of the way.
1. Assessment Offering – Our team will thoroughly analyze your existing systems and make recommendations for scalable system requirements. This process usually takes one to two weeks. The end result is a report that outlines recommendations and an initial plan.
2. Proof of Concept (POC) – Quickly develop and demonstrate a simple system related to a customer’s adoption of one or several specific new technologies. For example, if a customer has decided to use Oracle Coherence caching technology, the first step is to build a use-case-based small project that will validate assumptions about functionality and performance and provide some insights into issues that need to be considered before moving on to a complete project.
3. Pilot Project – In many cases we recommend that our customers deploy newly chosen technology in a phased manner. A pilot project allows the customers to deeply understand the technology, validate assumptions, and put a small project into production to see results before rolling out more projects.
4. Design Review – Our team will work with your internal experts to review suggested design improvements to ensure compatibility with your existing infrastructure.
5. Development Services – Our team has extensive experience that ranges from engineering systems from scratch to augmenting partner or custom technologies to work best in each unique environment.
6. Test and QA Services – Prior to rollout, our team will work to create a testing platform for the new system.
7. Production Support – Mission-critical systems require the expert services and familiarity of support staff. Our team can help in the key areas of moving applications to production, migrating legacy applications, and training your staff on the new technology platform.
8. Center of Excellence (COE) – Our COE offering is designed for companies who have decided on standardization of technologies. This process involves technology, people and best practices. The COE is staffed by teams from both Grid Dynamics and a customer’s own internal departments. The Grid Dynamics team initially takes the leading role, and transitions the leadship to the customer’s team as knowledge is transferred and more projects are deployed.
