Victoria Livschitz
President and CEO
For the past 15 years, Victoria Livschitz has built a reputation as an entrepreneur, innovator, and recognized leader in the Java and grid-computing community. She founded Grid Dynamics in 2006, bringing together an elite team of top-flight architects, engineers, and mathematicians. Previously, Victoria spent a decade as a principal architect for Sun Microsystems, pioneering the use of Java in factory automation, designing the industry's first real-time fraud detection system, and architecting the first utility-computing product for software developers. She has also done advanced research on next-generation languages and paradigms, and designed Metaphors, an original programming language. Earlier in her career, Victoria served as a system architect and developer at Ford Motor Company.

Victoria holds numerous patents in grid technology and has won prestigious awards for engineering excellence, including Ford's Chairman Award and Sun's System Engineer of the Year. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University.

Alex Freedland
President

A seasoned Silicon Valley entrepreneur and executive, Alex Freedland has a 20-year track record of developing and scaling successful technology companies. Before joining Grid Dynamics, he founded and led Mirantis, building the company into a leader in the Russian product-development outsourcing space. He is also a principal of Ventra Employment, a top Russian HR Services company.

Earlier, Alex co-founded RSI Group, Inc., one of the world's foremost providers of Receivables Management Software. As EVP and CTO, he oversaw both Product Development and Technology Services for RSI, which was later acquired by London Bridge Software, now part of Fair Isaac Corporation. Alex has also held a wide range of technical and management positions with Tektronix, IBM, ADP, Netscape, and KLA-Tencor.

Alex currently serves on the Boards of Directors of several technology companies. He holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.

Boris Renski
EVP of Marketing and Alliances

Boris Renski joined Grid Dynamics in 2006 with its acquisition of Selectosa Systems, a product development consultancy which he founded and led. An expert in international IT, Boris has extensive industry experience in both the U.S. and Russia, and specializes in bridging the environments and business practices of the two countries. He previously served as VP of Business Development at R&K, one of Russia's largest IT conglomerates, where he managed strategic relationships with Microsoft, Oracle, Intel, Western Digital, and AMD.

Boris holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems and Business Operations from Santa Clara University in California.

 

Operations Leadership

Oleg Goldman
COO
Oleg Goldman brings more than 15 years of high-tech industry expertise to his role as COO of Grid Dynamics. He spent the past ten years managing the building and integration of high-performance product development centers (PDCs) for some of the world's leading technology companies. Earlier on, Oleg served as Director and then VP of Engineering for the RSI Group, where he built and managed a Russian-based PDC. He also played a key role in the formation, development, and acquisition of Cadence Design Systems' Moscow development facility.

Oleg holds an M.Sc. from Minsk State University, Russia.

Ilya Elterman
Global Director of Engineering

Ilya Elterman brings over seven years of software-industry background to his role with Grid Dynamics. For the last three years he has led the establishment of Product Development Centers at the company's Saratov facility, for world-leading technology innovators such as Cisco and Agilent.

During his earlier years, Ilya was an active participant in annual International Collegiate Programming Contests organized by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). He has won the title of European Champion and has also been awarded two silver medals.

Ilya holds a M.Sc. degree in Physics with honors from Saratov State University, Russia.

Maria Akchurina
General Manager, Russian Operations

Maria Akchurina oversees the Grid Dynamics branches in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Saratov, as well as Kharkov in Ukraine. She joined the company in 2007 to head up business development in Russia, and continues to manage the company's client relations there. Maria contributes extensive experience in sales and operations management, customer relationships, and business process improvement.

Prior to Grid Dynamics, Maria was Sales Director at R&K Consulting, focusing on pipeline generation and contract negotiations.

Maria holds an M.S. in Public Administration from Moscow State University and is an International Executive MBA candidate at the Stockholm School of Economics in Russia.

Herman Narkaytis
Director of Operations, Russia

Herman Narkaytis spearheads the company's operations in Saratov, Russia, supervising back-office management, client relations, and strategic ODCs (Offshore Development Centers) there. Prior to joining Grid Dynamics in 2006, Herman was instrumental in building Selectosa Systems, a company serving small and medium-sized U.S. businesses with offshore product-development resources.

Herman has over ten years of operations and project management experience. Among his accomplishments are a strategic partnership between Grid Dynamics and Saratov State University that has led to the recruitment and cultivation of significant young talent.

Herman holds a Ph.D. in mathematical modeling and numerical methods from Saratov State Technical University.

Eugene Steinberg
CTO & Principal Architect
Eugene Steinberg is the Chief Technology Officer and Principal Architect at Grid Dynamics. Eugene is responsible for setting the technology and architectural strategy for the firm, worldwide. He also leads internal research projects, consults with customers and partners. Eugene is an expert in distributed high-throughput and low-latency algorithms, applications and systems. His expertise includes many of the commercial middleware tools used in financial services and other industries for grid computing, including GigaSpaces XAP, Oracle Coherence, Gemstone Gemfire, GridGain, Terracotta, Sun Grid Engine, DataSynapse GridServer, Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server, and Platform LSF and Symphony.


Eugene holds a Doctorate degree in Mathematics from Saratov State University, Russia.

Martynov
Max Martynov
Practice Lead, HPC
Max Martynov is the head of HPC practice at Grid Dynamics. He has over seven years of experience with Microsoft technology stack, having delivered a number of mission-critical projects as an Architect, Analyst and Engineer. With his proficiency in .NET ecosystem and extensive knowledge of Java scalability world, Max successfully leads HPC practice at Grid Dynamics, working in close relationship with Microsoft.


Prior to joining Grid Dynamics, Max was primarily engaged in engineering of large-scale enterprise applications based on Microsoft technologies, starting with COM platform and continuing with .NET framework. His professional interests include research in programming languages, software architecture and distributed systems in general.


Max holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and Information Technologies from Saratov State University, Russia.

Naylor
David Naylor
Principal Architect
David Naylor has over 20 years of experience in advanced technology development and in technology company management. Prior to joining Grid Dynamics, he served as CEO at Starthis, Inc a developer of high performance java middleware. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Illinois.


David holds a B.A in Physics from Oxford University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Taylor Gautier
Principal Architect
Taylor Gautier has over 15 years of experience as a specialist in large-scale, high-performance computing environments. Prior to joining Grid Dynamics, he served as a product manager and then a key executive for Terracotta, a leading provider of Java clustering software. He remains a technical advisor for the company.

Previously, Taylor worked as a client architect for Access, the largest wireless provider in Japan. He has also been a senior software engineer for Excite@Home, and a software engineer for Intel Corp.

Taylor holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences from the University of California at Davis.
stanklimoff
Stan Klimoff
Principal Architect

Stan Klimoff spearheads such projects as a 16,000-node, grid-based implementation for a major Web 2.0 company, employing innovative Semantic Web concepts and advanced visualization techniques. He also led the recent performance testing and tuning of the GigaSpaces 6 XAP in-memory data-grid engine.

Stan's specialties include smart networking, formal methodologies and languages, knowledge bases, and functional programming. Before joining Grid Dynamics, he spent four years as a software engineer at Selectosa Systems, where he led design and development for an online gaming project and its associated Web site.

Stan holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Saratov State University.
